Dr. Pushpito Ghosh is the Director of Central Salt & Marine Chemicals Research Institute, Bhavnagar, India. He obtained his doctorate in Chemistry from Princeton University, USA in 1981. He has served in various capacities in ICI including Section Manager of strategic research in UK and Head of Corporate research in India. He took over his present job in CSMCRI in 1999 and initiated several landmark projects including the pioneering work on Jatropha. Dr. Ghosh has a large number of international patents and papers to his credit and serves in many important committees in India. He has been bestowed with several awards including the DaimlerChrysler Environment Leadership Award.
