Mr. Roland A. Jansen

Mr. Roland A. JansenRoland A. Jansen holds a degree in Business Administration (lic.oec.HSG) from the University of St. Gallen, Switzerland. He is  currently President of Mother Earth Plantations Pte. Ltd. Singapore. The company has contracted over 1 million hectares land in West Timor (Indonesia) for jatropha and eucalyptus plantations to produce biodiesel and ethanol. Its Indonesian subsidiary, PT Buana Ibunda, maintains two offices in West Timor. In addition the company has issued the world’s first private equity fund in jatropha called the “Mother Earth Jatropha Plantation Partnership” that is registered in Luxemburg. The Fund takes equity stakes in existing jatropha companies and projects. At present PT Buana Ibunda is training 4500 farmers to become jatropha plantation managers. Mr. Jansen is also a partner in Mother Earth Investments AG (Switzerland) and Juno Mother Earth Asset Management LLC (New York). The companies manage assets in natural resources for banks, private clients, pension funds and family offices in several funds and certificates. He publishes his research monthly in the Juno Mother Earth Commodity Report. He is the author of “Profits from Natural Resources“, John Wiley & Sons, New York, (1998) where he forecasted correctly the end of the commodity bear markets and the start of a new supercycle upwards.

He is appearing regularly on the USA, Asian Pacific, British, French and German channels of Bloomberg Television as well as on CNBC to give his views on commodity trends. Mr Jansen serves as a honorary consul for The Netherlands in Liechtenstein. He is fluent in Dutch, English, French, German and Swiss German and has a working knowledge of Spanish, Italian and Portuguese.
