Mr. Abiodun Olaniyi

Mr. Abiodun Olaniyi is a development expert with a background in sustainable development, ICT, renewable energy, market development, entrepreneurship and leadership. He is one of the pioneers in promotion of jatropha and biofuel crops in West Africa. Mr. Olaniyi is a member of a number of local and international professional organizations working on renewable energy in many countries, including Austria, USA, UK, and Nigeria. He was a member of the international consultation on Pro-Poor Jatropha development being organized by IFAD, UN Foundation and FAO.
He is the founder and President of the Centre for Jatropha Promotions & Biofuels-Jakolgate International, a non-profit organization based in Lagos, Nigeria. It consists of a group of consultants, environmentalists, agriculturists, food scientists, agronomists, engineers, and project developers. Its main objectives are the promotion of jatropha and biofuels/energy crops for sustainable development in Nigeria and other African countries.
He is currently working with a group of experts to study 'the Growth & Development of Pro-Poor Jatropha Value Chain in Africa'. Nigeria.
