Dr. Zhong Chao Yin
Molecular Pathology Group, Temasek Life Sciences Laboratory, Singapore
Dr. Yin’s previous research interest mainly concentrated on the molecular aspects regarding interaction between rice (Oryza sativa L.) and Xanthomonas oryzae pv. oryzae, the causal agent of bacterial blight disease in rice. His research highlights include identification of a novel mode of interaction between the R gene and Avr gene, which allows implementation of novel strategies for breeding of bacterial blight resistant varieties.
Dr Yin’s latest endeavor extends into Jatropha curcas. He will share with you his latest research findings on gene targets for fatty acids engineering and toxin reduction.
