Dr. Gu Ke Yu

Dr Gu got his Bachelor degree on Agronomy in 1994 and Ph. D on Plant Genetics and Breeding in 1999 from Nanjing Agricultural University, China. He joined former Institute of Molecular Agrobiology, Singapore, in 2000 and Temasek Life Sciences Laboratory (TLL), Singapore, in 2002. Currently, Dr Gu is a post-doctor of Molecular Plant Pathology Group of TLL. His research interests include host resistance to bacterial blight disease in rice and fatty-acid biosynthesis genes in Jatropha curcas. Dr Gu will share with you some experiences on jatropha RNA extraction, normalized cDNA library construction and gene cloning of Acetyl-CoA Carboxylase (ACCase).
